“Call for Papers” Open for 7th Advanced PV Manufacturing Forum
Forum Abstracts Accepted until February 15; Conference Held in Munich, Germany
Berlin, Germany — January 25, 2011—SEMI PV Group is pleased to announce that the 7th Advanced Photovoltaic Manufacturing Forum will be held in conjunction with Intersolar Europe 2011 (June 8-10) in Munich, Germany. Photovoltaic (PV) professionals from equipment, material, and manufacturing companies; associations; institutes; and public-sector organizations are invited to submit abstracts for the annual conference forum.
The PV Manufacturing Forum is designed for PV technology leaders, managers, engineers and professionals from the user and supplier community and R&D to share recent developments in their joint drive towards “excellence in PV manufacturing.” The conference sessions will take a close look at the most critical hurdles identified by the early PV Technology Roadmap (
www.itrpv.net), how to address the challenges to continuously advance PV manufacturing tools and operation, and how to foster a prosperous photovoltaic industry in the future.
Abstracts are limited to one page, and should fall into one of the following “PV Technology” categories:
-
Materials (Silicon, Ingot, Wafer):A replacement of some materials will be necessary to secure availability, avoid environmental or health risks, reduce costs and increase efficiencies. Key topics include future wafer dimensions development and material trends.
-
Process/Manufacturing (Front-end and Back-end):Key topics include reduction in production costs: new technologies, materials and highly productive equipment.
-
Product/Technology (Cell, Module):Important features of solar cells will change over the next years. Key topics include issues for future cell and module architecture and corresponding developments.
SEMI encourages application-related presentations— for example, on joint projects between users and suppliers. Papers must be non-commercial and focus on the technical/ economical merits of a process rather than on an individual company’s product benefits. Abstracts should focus on the key issues covered in the presentation and relevance to the conference. Evaluation criteria for the abstracts include significance, usefulness for the manufacturing world, clarity and accuracy. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed.
The abstract deadline is 15 February. Abstracts should be sent to
semiberlin@semi.org. Acceptance/refusal decisions will be made by 21 February.
