Deadline: Jun 30, 2014 23:00 Eastern Standard Time (EST)
The U.S. Department of State, with its implementing partner CRDF Global, is pleased to announce the 2015 Iraq Science Fellowship Program. The Iraq Science Fellowship Program (ISFP) provides the opportunity for highly qualified Iraqi biological scientists to spend three to six months working alongside American academics and professionals. Applications are encouraged from all Iraqi university professors and researchers. Preference will be given to those with a PhD or other advanced research degree and a strong publication record. During their fellowships, fellows will enrich their scientific knowledge and develop valuable professional skills to promote Iraq’s scientific community. ISFP is a public-private partnership supported by private, government, academic, and non-governmental organizations. Up to three fellowships will be awarded.
Travel, lodging, and living stipends will be provided for all fellows for the duration of their fellowships. Fellows will be placed at U.S. universities, private companies, national laboratories or other U.S. institutions. Fellows should expect to arrive in the U.S. in January 2015. Individuals seeking acceptance into the program must submit a completed application and requisite supporting documents. Applications will be evaluated through a highly competitive process. Participation in the program will also depend on the identification of a suitable host, adequate proficiency in English, medical clearance and eligibility for U.S. J-1 visa. To be considered, applicants must currently reside in Iraq.
This is an exciting program, and we look forward to receiving application submissions. Please circulate this announcement within your professional networks. For email inquiries or to submit your application contact: ISFP@crdfglobal.org
ALL application materials must be completed, signed and emailed to ISFP@crdfglobal.org by the deadline below to be considered.
