ADT and HGTV Team Up to Create the Ultimate HGTV Smart Home Featuring ADT Pulse® Home Security and Automation Technology

Boca Raton, Fla., March 26, 2014ADT Security Services (NYSE: ADT) today announced a renewed partnership with HGTV to showcase the latest innovations in home automation, monitored security, energy efficiency and smart home design throughout the 2014 HGTV® Smart Home Giveaway (#HGTVSmart).

ADT’s Pulse solution will be integrated within the 16th-century design of this year’s Smart Home, which draws inspiration from the English-cottage-style homes seen throughout the suburban neighborhoods of Nashville, where the home is located.

“Integrating ADT Pulse into the HGTV Smart Home provides an opportunity to showcase how ADT can help transform a house into a home where families can feel secure and in control,” said Tom Murray, vice president of Residential Marketing for ADT. “We are excited to help create an even smarter home than we did last year, and look forward to HGTV unveiling the finished product in April.”

ADT Pulse®offers a wide range of features such as the ability to monitor and control door locks, thermostat settings, garage doors, small appliances, lights and security cameras with one seamless app accessible via tablet, smartphone, or web-enabled PC. Users can also configure their system to execute a series of given actions automatically at any given time, including sending text and email alerts to a personal mobile device. More importantly, ADT Pulse provides added peace of mind with 24/7 monitoring of the home’s security system. For more information on ADT Pulse, visitwww.ADTPulse.com.

“This is our second HGTV Smart Home, and it’s one of the most charming, beautiful homes we’ve ever built,” said Jack Thomasson, HGTV professional house planner. “We have incorporated automated features throughout the house including lighting, climate control, window coverings, security system, master shower, garage doors and audio/video. We also recognize that the term ‘smart’ encompasses ‘green,’ and we’ve gone to great lengths to maximize energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.”
