Toronto, Canada - GAO RFID Inc. (www.GAORFID.com) has released a battery-powered active UHF RFID card tag, which transmits a Radio Frequency (RF) signal at a pre-set time-interval. The compact tag is specifically designed for personnel tagging and asset monitoring and can be mounted on a variety of items. It incorporates a convenient clip-slot for a lanyard for wearing. This active RFID tag has certification under Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
This RFID card tag, model 124012, has an anti-tamper kit to log any tampering with it. It uses a collision avoidance algorithm to disperse the transmission around the mean repetition interval. The tag offers configurable settings including Customer Site Code, tag ID, tag age, counter value, movement alarm and tamper alarm status. Encapsulated within a moulded ABS plastic case which is ultrasonically sealed during the manufacturing process, the tag withstands harsh environmental conditions. It is equipped with an auto-wake function that will automatically "wake it up" every five minutes and transmit its pre-configured data. In addition, this active tag has an estimated life of five years when the transmission rate is approximately once every1.5 seconds. The battery status can be inferred by interrogating the internal Tag Age Counter Value.
