The 4G/LTE based mobile internet available already in the agglomeration of Budapest
This summer has seen Telekom take the new generation mobile internet, the 4G/LTE to as many as 50 settlements of Pest County in addition to several cities in the country.
The service has become available, among others, in the larger parts of the areas of Piliscsaba, Biatorbágy, Érd, Budaörs, Ráckeve, Monor, Gyömrő, Veresegyháza, Sződliget and Délegyháza. The list of the settlements is available at the web site http://www.t-mobile.hu/lakossagi/ugyintezes/lefedettseg/lte.
From among cities in the country the service is available in the larger areas of Szombathely, Debrecen, Kecskemét, Győr, Siófok, Keszthely and Hévíz. In autumn covering Budapest will continue. Currently the 4G/LTE service is available outdoors* for 98% and indoors for 73% of the population of Budapest.
The system can be used in the area covered with a Net&Roll mobile internet package and an LTE enabled device. T-Mobile offers 4G USB modems or Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE tablets for the service. In addition, it is also possible to order from T-Mobile’s website the 4G router, which, once connected to the 4G/LTE network, distributes the large bandwidth provided by the technology among wifi enabled equipment. In this way the internet can be easily used simultaneously on several devices (notebook, tablet, smart phone) in the same household or office, thus benefiting from the advantages** of the 4G/LTE network.
The most important and tangible benefit for users of the 4G/ LTE technology is the much higher down- and uploading speed ***, as well as the reduced delay time thanks to which the use of online applications and games through the mobile network has become even easier, high definition, even HD quality video films can be down- and uploaded considerably more quickly, and several programs can be run simultaneously without any problem, all of which greatly improve customer experience.
*Outdoor coverage: In the area concerned mobile internet service is available outdoors and, in certain cases, within the buildings situated in the area of external coverage.
Indoor coverage: In the area concerned mobile internet service is available also within buildings subject to the consideration that the signal is generally stronger near windows and on higher floors. Reinforced concrete, coloured glass or heat resistant foils constitute a considerable shield. Neighbouring buildings may also impede the propagation of signals.
**Speed can be limited by the maximum downloading speed of the equipment connected.
***The speed the subscriber experiences depends on the availability of the equipment and tariff package supporting the technology concerned, as well as on whether the network and the tariff package supports the speed at the given point, furthermore on radio and usage conditions.
