UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Career Services will host about 330 recruiters from government, industry and corporate businesses at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center for the annual Spring Career Days on March 26 and 27.
The two-day fair will be broken up into a non-technical career day on Wednesday and a technical career day on Thursday. Representatives from recruiting organizations will be at the event each day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., said Career Fair coordinator Sherry Rice. Employers will be set up on the concourse and the arena floor.
Rice added that those planning to attend the fair should visit the Spring Career Fair’s website to research which companies’ representatives they would like to visit.
“Employers really like when students come really prepared and have questions specifically for them,” she said. “Make sure to research the companies that you really want to see, but also be open once you’re there. If someone pops up and looks interesting, stop by.”
Career Services will also give students the opportunity to have their resumes reviewed by HR professionals at its “Resumania” event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday (March 25).
“We have a whole week full of workshops students can attend, and that’s one of the best ways they can prepare for the fair,” Rice said, adding that at the event, attendees should “make sure to make as many connections as possible and take advantage of networking opportunities.”
Penn State alumni and students from any Penn State campus regardless of their academic year are invited to attend the fair to find an internship, a full-time position or a co-op position.
This year, the University’s new bag policy will be in place, and attendees are asked to bring only a coat and resume folder, Rice said. Coat racks will be available, and students will receive a bag at the fair to carry paper information that is handed out.
