ACC Releases May 2014 Resin Production and Sales Stats

WASHINGTON (July 2, 2014) – U.S. production of major plastic resins totaled 6.4 billion pounds during April 2014, a decrease of 1.4 percent compared to the same month in 2013, according to statistics released today by the American Chemistry Council (ACC).  Year-to-date production was 31.1 billion pounds, a 1.8 percent decrease as compared to the same period in 2013.

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 6.4 billion pounds during April 2014, a decrease of 5.6 percent compared to the same month one year earlier.  Year-to-date sales and captive use was 30.8 billion pounds, a 2.1 percent decrease as compared to the same period in 2013.
