Acrodea completes development of Emoji Lite,

November 27, 2008 (Tokyo, Japan)—Acrodea, Inc. (CEO and President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, announced today the completed development of Emoji Lite, an innovative, breakthrough, messaging solution.

The newly developed Emoji Lite by Acrodea features the automatic insertion of picture fonts after an email message is drafted, in contrast to conventional picture font conversion functions. This breakthrough middleware solution further enhances email as a communication tool. Capability added to the transmitting terminal is sufficient: Existing, receiving terminals can enjoy the enhanced email.

For mobile users who wanted to use picture fonts, but were unfamiliar with their operation, and for user segments that tended to hesitate in their use, because input of picture fonts was cumbersome, this feature automatically inserts picture fonts after email is drafted with the single press of a key. Anyone can enhance his or her email communications with ease.

Emoji Lite has developed key words, based on frequently appearing words that have been compiled independently. Based on these key words, the display of numerous picture font characters is possible in email texts. Instead of indiscriminate usage, furthermore,the picture font expressions may be varied to match the type of recipient or sender’s situation, by switching the dictionary file* or algorithm for picture font insertion. Besides substitution or insertion of picture fonts in plain text, settings that use picture fonts for decoration or emphasis were previously difficult to adjust manually. Emoji Lite, however, can easily enable operations for enhanced picture font expressions.

Henceforth, Acrodea plans to incorporate conversion compatibility for HTML email, and substitution compatibility for existing Deco Mail picture fonts (GIF images) on the handset and Flash content (SWF files). The enhancement of content developer tools and simplified generation of dictionary files* are also planned. These developments eye the creation of a new content category and expansion of the content business. Moreover, support is planned for additional, embedded functions consisting of a linking mode to external picture files and a conversion to picture fonts that use downloaded picture data or mobile camera pictures.

Acrodea intends to offer this new messaging solution globally, for broad adoption and use worldwide.
