Ad hoc: Kontron Grows 2011 Revenue to More than EUR 580 Million

Eching near Munich, January 16, 2012 -- Kontron AG achieved a new revenue record in the 2011 financial year elapsed, on the basis of preliminary figures: despite the continuing difficult international environment, revenue of more than EUR 580 million represents an approximately 14 percent year-on-year increase, thereby beating expectations. The final figures for the 2011 financial year will be published on March 21, 2012.

According to CEO Ulrich Gehrmann, the company also anticipates a stable sales trend for 2012, with revenue 3 percent above or below the 2011 comparable figure of about EUR 570 million, which has been adjusted to reflect Malaysia. This estimate no longer includes the approximately EUR 15 million of revenue from the Malaysian production subsidiary Kontron Design Manufacturing Services (KDMS). Kontron intends to transfer most of the KDMS assets to its strategic partner Plexus Corp. over the coming weeks. The Management Board is assuming that the EBIT operating margin can be improved in 2012.
