Eching near Munich, January 18th, 2012. Kontron and Plexus have successfully finalized the sale of assets of the 100-percent daughter company Kontron Design Manufacturing Services (M) Sdn. Bhd. (KDMS) to Plexus Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. as of January 18, 2012. The purchasing price of USD 35.2 million will immediately be paid in full by the buyer to Kontron. The future activities of KDMS will concentrate on research, development and strategic purchasing. The majority of the present employees will be taken over by Plexus to ensure the steady continuation of the production.
Kontron hereby achieved a milestone in its strategic focus on its core competences in migrating towards higher-margin business of systems and customer-specific solutions.
