Toronto, Canada - GAO Research Inc. ) recommends its adaptive noise suppression algorithm designed to adaptively suppress both stationary and non-stationary background noise from speech. By taking advantage of the signal characteristics of human speech, the algorithm extracts the signals of interest and adaptively cancels the noise that is present in the background.
Featuring real-time audio processing and C-callable functions, it provides natural sounding and undistorted speech output. Noises embedded in speech are especially perceivable when compressed and transmitted. Non-stationary background noises that change over time are even more perceivable when played back.
By continuously tracking the characteristics of the noise signal, GAO's adaptive algorithm effectively eliminates this background noise, resulting in much clearer speech over the communication channel. The code is developed using ANSI C and can be ported to customers' platform of choice.
This adaptive noise suppression algorithm belongs to GAO's family of Telephony Software. This line also has other popular and widely used products including MF R1/R2 Software which is an implementation of ITU-T Recommendations Q.320, Q.322, Q.323, and Q.441 for multi-frequency signal receiving equipment, Call Progress Software used to acquire connections between subscribers in telephone network systems and to indicate the status of the incoming and outgoing phone calls and Caller Identification Software which is based on the Bell 202 or the V.23 standard and can be used in analog or digital telephone, video conferencing, and answering machines.
