Division of Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services Recognized for Fifth Year

Gaithersburg, MD – The Home Health division of Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services has been named a Top Agency of 2016 HomeCare Elite. This is the fifth year in a row that Adventist has received this award, which is presented to the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified agencies in the United States.

It is a tremendous honor for us to receive this recognition based on the quality care and great experience we are committed to providing to our patients,” said Keith Ballenger, vice president of Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services. “I want to particularly recognize our team of nurses, therapists, social workers, home health aides and dieticians who visit our patients and work with families on a daily basis to provide compassionate, quality care that truly results in the best outcomes.”

Winners of the HomeCare Elite award are ranked by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, best practice (process measure) implementation, patient experience (Home Health CAHPS®), quality improvement and consistency and financial performance. In order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least one outcome in Home Health Compare. Out of 9,406 agencies considered, 2,353 are recognized on the 2016 HomeCare Elite winners list overall.

Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services has provided in-home care to the community for more than 40 years through a dedicated team of skilled nurses, therapists, home health aides and social workers that provide home health services tailored to each patient’s specific needs. “Improving quality of care and the patient experience continue to underpin a rapidly evolving healthcare environment,” said Christine Lang, Senior Director, Product Management, for ABILITY Network. “At the same time tracking, measuring and interpreting data that support these efforts is becoming more complex. The 2016 HomeCare Elite winners have demonstrated the highest-quality care in their communities, which is a remarkable achievement. We congratulate Adventist HealthCare Home Health on being one of the top home care agencies in the country.”
