Advertising Media Prices Will Increase in 2011, Says Publisher of Thumbnail Media Planner
Expect to pay higher prices for advertising media time and space beginning this fall. Increased advertiser demand for media will likely drive prices up after two years of reduced prices.
Rochester, MI, June 04, 2010 (PressReleasePoint) -- "The cost of advertising media will likely increase beginning in fall 2010 as congressional races plus some increased ad budgets will significantly reduce the supply of time and space," according to Ron Geskey, CEO of 2020:Marketing Communications LLC and publisher of the popular Thumbnail Media Planner. "Advertisers should capitalize on the buyer’s market while they can," he continued.
Also, according to Geskey, many large advertisers and large media buyers are expecting increased demand and 8%+ price increases in the 2010-2011 upfront television season. Any price increases follow price reductions in 2009 and 2010.
What should you expect to pay?
To answer that readers may wish to refer to the 2010 Thumbnail Media Planner which has been published annually by 2020:Marketing Communications LLC since 2003. Media covered include national and local market television and radio as well as magazines, newspapers, the internet, social media, out of home, and non traditional medi
One of the Planner’s popular features is its Top 100 Market Planner which includes demographics and media costs for each market (Designated Market Area).
Asked about future trends, Geskey, offered the opinion that against a backdrop of tough economic conditions, there will be no place to hide from the growth of digital media. Geskey opines, "We do not believe that the death of traditional media is imminent, but as economic pressures increase, so will the pace of change including the challenge of how to reap tangible results in the digital world."
