Aftek Limited (NSE: AFTEK), a 22-year old full spectrum technology company today announced launch of its rugged and durable, touch-screen enabled GPS / GRPS / WiFi / GSM enabled Integrated Device Controller (IDC). It offers seamless integration with a variety of peripheral devices, such as taxi fare meter, receipt printer, credit card payment terminal, smart card reader for automated fare collection and more. As part of Intelligent Transport System, IDC can also be interfaced with a vehicle engine, LED sign board and live DVR / CCTV camera in a public transport vehicle to operate as a multi-function Vehicle Mounting System (VMS).

Running on Windows CE operating system, IDC offers user-friendly 7" TFT touch-screen interface and comes with 2 GB of storage (expandable up to 32 GB). It is equipped with two RS232 ports, one RS485 port; one CAN port along with USB host and client. Furthermore, IDC offers multimedia functionalities by means of a microphone and audio line-out jacks for external audio amplifier and for other infotainment devices. Coupled with ten analog input, five digital input and five digital output channels, IDC can be interfaced with virtually any peripheral device for control and management.

IDC can make and receive GSM calls to predefined restricted numbers and send emergency SMSs using its quad band GSM / GPRS module. It can also operate on a manual mode in low connectivity areas and supports internal battery backup. Additionally, IDC can be configured to send automated alerts for vehicle over-speeding, unscheduled stops, geo-fence crossing, fuel-level drop, engine over-heating and more. Moreover, using IDC's CAN interface, bus monitoring can be done at server side and it comes with pre-loaded software for on-the-fly trip management. Using this software, one can easily validate the route, trip, conductor ticketing machine and more.
