Agua Web, a Calgary, AB based website designing firm, has announced that none of their clients have fallen victim to the Heartbleed Bug. The Heartbleed bug is just a reminder of how weak the internet can be, and that all firms must take an extra action to make sure all information is truthfully and well protected.

PressReleasePoint, Calgary, Alberta, April 21, 2014 - Agua Web Solutions, a Calgary based website design firm, has announced that none of their customers have fallen victim to the Heartbleed Bug. Agua has ensured that all of their client’s websites are secured and that the bug has not impacted any websites designed by the company.

The Heartbleed bug has spread frenzy through the internet by exposing a vulnerability in OpenSSL framework and provides access to protected information, like encryption keys that identify usernames, passwords, associated site content and service provider information. Users affected by this bug are mostly those who use OpenSSL sites, which can include social sites, commercial or software installation sites. Even government run websites were not all found to be secure.

The Heartbleed bug has raised questions and concerns about how encryption technology can protect vital consumer information, like credit card numbers, passwords, and personal data. According to news reports, it’s possible that the security vulnerabilities have existed on a large number of web servers, but went previously undetected for longer than two years. Although this is primarily speculation, it’s possible that the bug was a recent discovery, but it’s virtually impossible to determine with 100% accuracy.

Internet users who feel they may have been affected by the bug should reset all passwords and consistently monitor credit card data. More information can be found at www.heartbleed.com.

Thankfully, Agua Web Solutions doesn’t use the affected OpenSSL framework for managing protected information, and therefore none of their web clients were affected by the devastating bug. Agua maintains high standards of security and functionality, and takes extreme precautions in protecting customer’s personal data.
