Airmenu Lets Guests Place Orders Without the Need for a Waiter

Virtual menus tailor-made for smartphones enable clients to order by touch. The orders are managed through a website, without the business owners having to install any additional software or replace the management software system they already use.

Lisbon, Portugal., January 17, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - An European tech start-up came up with a way for restaurant guests to place orders using only their mobile devices. Called AirMenu, the service enables bars, restaurants and hotels to create virtual menus, so guests can order meals with their smartphones or tablets without the need to call the waiter or stand in long lines at the counter.

The menus can be created with just a few steps. Restaurant managers just have to define the prices of each product and the time and place in which each menu is available.

To order, the guests just have to visit the restaurant’s AirMenu (info.airmenu.com/en) profile, either from a browser or through the AirMenu app (available for Android and iOS) and then click on the meals and beverages they want. AirMenu also lets restaurants create and design QR codes that, when scanned, give the clients direct access to the menus. Alternatively, clients can also use the service in their computers, to make restaurant reservations or to request a food delivery service.

Waiters can be notified either by sms or by e-mail every time a client does a request. Clients are also notified when the order is ready or if there was any delay.

The orders are managed through the AirMenu back-office that is accessed from a browser, without the need to install anything on the computer. Restaurants also don’t need to replace the management software they already use, since AirMenu is compatible with these products.
