Airport Parking Competition Heats up at Nashville

Nashville International Airport is said to be one of the best places in the world to go if you want to see a famous country singer, but did you know that it is also currently the source of debate over airport parking? BNA Airport has poured millions of dollars into renovating its parking facilities over the past four years, but at the same time as this was going on, airport parking revenue has been in decline.

Off-site parking lot operators, however, have been reporting record volumes of people using their parking services. This comes at a time when more and more people are making use of Nashville International Airport; statistics suggest that passenger traffic is up by more than 5% in 2011 so far.

Part of the reason for so many people opting to use off-site parking close to BNA could well be because of the disruption caused by the renovations to on-site parking that have been taking place over the past couple of years. Free shuttles are also provided to take passengers from the lot to the airport, and prices for off-site parking are generally lower, suggesting that there are several good reasons why off-airport parking is increasingly popular among BNA passengers.
