MONTGOMERY, Ala. - 12/27/2013

The Alabama Secretary of State’s Office (SOS) is proud to announce the newest feature offered through the online business services division. Citizens can now upload attachments when completing the “Collateral Information” section of the online UCC Filing application. There is no additional fee associated with uploading attachments online, whereas there is a $2 fee per page for any filing over two pages in length with paper filings.

Rebecca Morris, the Director of Business Services, noted how this new feature will prove to be extremely beneficial, especially for longer UCC filings. “The Secretary of State’s office is always looking for ways to improve current State procedures. This new feature will streamline the filing process adding cost savings to both the State and citizens. Many filers have been asking for the ability to upload attachments for quite some time now, so the State is proud to finally make it a reality,” said Morris.
