Atlanta, Georgia September 1, 2009 Thirteen year old Alexis Ruby of Duluth and Albany Georgia has been offered second year apprentice positions in ballet, jazz, hip-hop and musical theater companies with Susan Chambers Dance Company in Atlanta Georgia. The young Miss Ruby will spend a second year as a dancer in residence with the non-profit pre-professional dance company. Susan Chambers has long been a leader in the south as the premier pre-professional musical theater dance company. It has had many dancers graduate from prestigious performing arts universities and move on to professional careers in the dance and musical arts.

The dance company performs throughout the year at community and charity events such as foster children holiday events. They also produce a Broadway-style musical in February of each year. This year will be the sixth year presentation of the musical hit "The Trial of Mother Goose" which has delighted audiences young and old! Miss Ruby was featured in an especially prepared role last year as the "Ice Fairy" and hopes to reprise the role this year. The company also presents "Dancin' & Singin' the Night Away" which will give Broadway lovers a taste of some of the most popular pieces ever to hit Broadway. All this takes place this February 18 - 20 at the Gwinnett Center. Special school presentations take place 1-2 times each day and public performances in the evenings and on Saturday as a matinee. Backstage tours are also available.
