ALHOSN University, an Abu Dhabi–based private educational institution, recently toured various campuses of the Applied Technology High Schools (ATHS) across the country to enlighten students on major career-related issues and help them determine career paths that best meet their personal and professional growth goals.
Participating in the 2013 ATHS Career Exploration Day, ALHOSN University emphasized the importance of pursuing fields that cater to both personal interests and skills. ALHOSN representatives encouraged attendees to consider careers in fields such as Engineering, Architecture, Education and Business Administration which have strong market demand and offer exceptional growth opportunities.
Moreover, ALHOSN underscored the importance of giving back to the community and maintaining cultural identity as espoused by the university’s motto of ‘global knowledge with local vision.’ The ATHS students were invited to explore a holistic approach to education at ALHOSN and were handed information on the institution’s various training, internship, recruiting, scholarship, sponsorship, and assistantship programs.
These themes were delivered during an open-day tour that swept through Abu Dhabi, Ras al-Khaimah, Dubai, Al Ain and Fujairah campuses and ran from January 20 to 29, 2013.
“There is a wealth of choices currently out there for graduating high school students to pursue successful careers. But before they take the big leap, it is important that they be educated on what options are available, what fields are suitable for them, and what awaits them not only during college but when they eventually join the workforce. More importantly, students should learn to strike a balance between their career and personal growth and understand their impact as productive members of society,” said Professor Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO, ALHOSN University.
“The students of Applied Technology High Schools really took our messages to heart and we so look forward to seeing a lot of them join us in pursuing academic and personal excellence,” he added.
ALHOSN University was founded in 2005 by the Abu Dhabi Holding Company to provide high-quality, value-based education to students of all nationalities. The university offers 12 officially certified undergraduate and 7 graduate programs under the Faculties of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences.
