Feb. 6, 2014 - Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) today announced a month-long campaign to spotlight local travelers, commemorating the 15th anniversary of the carrier's first scheduled service. The campaign will celebrate Allegiant's success and commitment to making leisure travel possible with real stories from loyal customers who have changed the way they travel because of the carrier's unique brand of low-cost, nonstop service.
"The foundation of our business is providing access to affordable travel and stimulating demand for leisure travel through low fares and great deals on vacation products," said Andrew Levy, Allegiant Travel Co. President and COO. "We are proud to have grown a healthy airline, while keeping our fares well below the national average and expanding our service to 99 communities nationwide, more than any other domestic low-cost carrier. We know our customers appreciate having access to nonstop flights from their local airport and the value that our unique product offers."
Allegiant is fast becoming America's "Hometown Airline," helping travelers like Darrell from Fargo, ND and Leslie from Orlando, Fla. by making travel more convenient and affordable. Here are their stories:
Darrell from West Fargo, ND has booked 150 itineraries with Allegiant and has been traveling with the airline for nearly ten years. His favorite destinations are Las Vegas, NV and Phoenix, AZ.
"Allegiant allows me to travel non-stop to both Phoenix and Las Vegas six to ten times a year. Without the low fares and the non-stop advantage, I would never have bought our second home in Phoenix. Don't ever leave Fargo, Allegiant!"
Leslie from Orlando, Fla. has booked 38 itineraries on Allegiant and has been traveling with the airline for three years. Her favorite destination is Des Moines, Iowa.
"When our son was offered a scholarship to play football at Iowa State University in 2011, we had never been to Iowa and really had no idea how we would get there. We found out about Allegiant through the recruitment process and because of the great prices on service into Des Moines, we were able to cheer him on at seven home games this year. Thank you Allegiant, for getting his number one fans to every home game!"
Starting with just one plane flying from Fresno, Calif. to Las Vegas, NV on February 28, 1999, Allegiant has grown to a fleet of 68 planes, flying over 7 million passengers last year. Allegiant now serves 99 cities, more than any other domestic low cost carrier. The company recently announced its 44th consecutive quarter of profitable operation while keeping its average one-way fare under $100.
Each day in February, will feature new stories of individual travelers who have been able to do something great traveling with Allegiant.
