Allen Gilmer to be Featured Speaker for Texas Tech School of Law Energy Law Lecture Series

WHAT: The Texas Tech University School of Law will host Allen Gilmer, co-founder of DrillingInfo, as part of its Energy Law Lecture Series for the fall semester.

WHEN: Noon Monday (Oct. 16)

EVENT: Allen Gilmer, chairman of Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO) and co-founder of DrillingInfo, will be the featured speaker for the Texas Tech School of Law Energy Law Lecture Series where he will discuss “Energy Literacy.”

Prior to co-founding DrillingInfo in 1999, Gilmer was an independent oilman for seven years, co-founding three profitable exploration and production companies. He began his oil patch career as a geophysicist with Marathon Oil Corporation, working in research, seismic acquisitions and South American exploration.

Gilmer is active in all aspects of DrillingInfo’s new product development and is widely recognized for his industry leadership and vision. He holds several patents in the field of multi-component seismology.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in geology from Rice University and his master’s degree in geology from University of Texas at El Paso.

Formed in 1946, TIPRO advocates to preserve the ability for independent producers to explore for and produce oil and natural gas. The association is one of the oldest and largest oil and natural gas advocacy nonprofit organizations in the state of Texas.
