alley National Bank Appoints Clara Ryan To Vice President – Loan Review Officer

WAYNE, N.J. – Tuesday, January 11, 2011– Valley National Bank, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Valley National Bancorp (NYSE:VLY), announced today the appointment of Clara Ryan to Vice President/Loan Review Officer.

As a Loan Review Officer, Ms. Ryan examines and assesses the credit quality of the Bank’s loan portfolio by monitoring the adherence to internal credit policies and loan administration procedures. Besides these responsibilities, Ms. Ryan also monitors the Lending Departments’ compliance with relevant laws and regulations, evaluates the staff’s overall compliance with lending policies and measures the relative quality of their loan approvals.

Ms. Ryan received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Centenary College. She brings over 17 years of relevant banking experience to her current role. Prior to joining Valley in 2007, she served as a Loan Review Officer for a large financial institution.
