WAYNE, N.J. – Friday, January 14, 2011– Valley National Bank, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Valley National Bancorp (NYSE:VLY), announced today the appointment of David Amato to Vice President/Branch Sales Manager of the Bank’s Freehold branch located at 3495 Route 9 in Freehold, New Jersey.

Mr. Amato brings over eight years of banking experience to his position. Prior to joining Valley in 2009, he served as Business Banker in the local Freehold area for a large financial institution.
