Los Angeles (April 23, 2014) ALO magazine has officially opened up its ALO Insider writing contest announced by Wafa Kanan, publisher. The contest encourages aspiring young writers to submit their success essays between May-September 2014 giving them the chance to earn their way as regular ALO correspondents and columnists.
Los Angeles (April 23, 2014)… (PressReleasePoint) - “This is the rare opportunity for young writers to write about human interest stories, lifestyle, art and culture, perseverance, business, beauty and fashion,” Says Kanan. “We are searching for the globe’s hidden talents to bring them into the publishing world.”
Eligibility: The ALO Insider writing contest is open to new graduates and undergraduates in journalism, communication studies, sociology, international relations, business, art and any other related studies. For consideration, articles should be 500-800 words, and must be submitted online at www.alomagazine.com/contest
Contest Period: The contest begins on May 1, 2014 and runs through September 1, 2014. (Inclusion of images, videos, and visual aids are optional and will need to be submitted prior to end of the contest period.)
Judging Criteria: Articles will be evaluated based on: subject innovation, essay style, grammar and spelling, authenticity of facts and citation, relevance to the subjects listed above, and effectiveness in presenting points of view.
After submission, up to twenty-five of the best articles will be selected and published in the
ALO Blog. The articles will compete for the honor of being selected as the top choice via Facebook likes. The article with the highest number of Facebook likes on ALO Blog (min. 250 likes) will receive a trip to Turkey RT airfare, plus a scholarship amount of $1000. Selected undergraduate winners are eligible for placement in the exclusive paid internship program, while the best writers will become regular paid contributors for the magazine.
