The event will happen at the 2010 Detroit Black Expo, July 28th - August 1st. The event's goal is to spark growth within the Detroit community.

WARREN, Mich. – The Ambassador Bridge and Detroit Black Expo (DBE) IV have partnered on a vendor procurement fair that will take part during this year’s expo and conference July 28-August 1 at The University of Detroit Mercy. The DBE is one of the largest African American Consumer Expos in the country, featuring an expected 200 black-owned businesses, 500 conference participants and 2,000 consumers.
With a goal of partnering with the community and helping spark economic growth within the City of Detroit, the Ambassador Bridge is providing construction and vendor opportunities to minority and woman-owned businesses located within Detroit. Activities are for re-decking the existing bridge, as well as for construction work on its future replacement span.
“These are critical times in the State of Michigan’s economy, but we as a community must support entrepreneurial activity and small business growth,” said Ken Harris, Vice President of Business Development & Commmunity Outreach for the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council and President/CEO of Detroit Black Expo.
Ken Dobson, Director, Governmental Affairs for Ambassador Bridge, added: “As a leading business in the community, we look forward to putting local residents back to work immediately. We encourage all Detroit-based minority and women-owned businesses in the construction field to come to Detroit Black Expo IV and meet us in person.”
