AMC Men's Soccer Players of the Week: Cable and Dieckhaus take home this weeks honors

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Conor Cable of William Woods (Mo.) and Garrett Dieckhaus of Missouri Baptist are named AMC Men's Soccer Players of the Week, the Conference Office announced Monday. Cable was awarded Defensive Player of the Week and Dieckhaus was awarded Offensive Player of the Week. The two players were selected based on their performance from Sept. 25 – Oct. 1.

The next AMC Player of the Week will be announced on Oct. 9.

AMC Defensive Player of the Week
Conor Cable, William Woods (Mo.)
Sr., GK, Spalding, England

  • Recorded two shutouts on the week.
  • Accumulated a total of six saves.
  • Has six shutouts on the season.
  • Ranks second in the AMC in goals against average (0.6).
  • Has five shutouts in his last five games played, helping the Owls to seven-straight wins.
  • Has not surrendered a goal since Sept. 6.
  • This is his third career Defensive Player of the Week award second-straight.

AMC Offensive Player of the Week
Garrett Dieckhaus, Missouri Baptist
So., F., St. Charles, Mo.

  • Scored two goals in the Spartans 4-1 win over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.).
  • Added one assist and had five points on the week.
  • First goal proved to be the game-winning goal.
  • Tied for second on the team with three goals and seven points on the season.
  • This is his first career Offensive Player of the Week award.

Other notable performances:

  • Pedro De Souza, Park (Mo.): Scored the Pirates only two goals of the week, helping them draw both matches.
  • Ulises Caba Cordova, Lyon (Ark.): Scored two goals in each of the Scots two games. Added an assist and had nine points on the week.
  • Rodrigo Alves, William Woods (Mo.): Scored two goals in the Owls 3-0 win over Williams Baptist.
  • Davide Bucarelli, Missouri Baptist: Had three saves in the Spartans 4-1 win.
  • Joan Carlos Perez, Lindenwood-Belleville: Had 13 saves for the Lynx in two games.
