Annapolis Police Department Turns to InterAct Public Safety Systems to Speed Emergency Dispatch
Winston Salem, NC - February 09, 2010 -- InterAct Public Safety Systems, a leading provider of safety and security software used by government agencies as well as private sector businesses, today announced that the Annapolis, Maryland Police Department (APD) has deployed its fully integrated computer aided dispatch (InterActCAD) and geographic information system (InterActGIS) software to speed emergency response operations. In addition, the APD will be implementing InterActMobile to provide greater situational awareness on the road for its law enforcement personnel.
These products are integral components of the InterAct Connections Framework , a comprehensive set of integrated applications, processes and systems designed to support an emergency response operations' full incident lifecycle through a seamlessly connected workflow. Known as the most feature-rich, easy-to-use CAD software, InterActCAD makes it easy for dispatchers to quickly collect and evaluate critical incident information and respond in the best way possible. InterActGIS is a dynamic dispatch mapping applicationthat displays wired and wireless caller locations, landmarks, aerial and satellite imagery, specific structure photos, and other geo-based items necessary to direct a successful response. By deploying this tightly integrated solution, the Annapolis Police Department can create dispatch calls, drag and drop units, and manage and change unit status right on the visual map.
On the heels of its successful deployment of InterActCAD and InterActGIS, the Annapolis Police Department has decided to implement InterActMobile to give its law enforcement personnel greater situational awareness on the road. InterActMobile allows officers to quickly identify outstanding warrants, stolen vehicle reports, criminal history checks, and other critical information about individuals involved in incidents. This arms them with the knowledge to make the best decisions in emergency situations.
"When it comes to emergency dispatch, information is everything," said Lieutenant Tim Seipp of the Annapolis Police Department. "With InterAct software, dispatchers can easily identify the unit that can get to an incident the fastest. And with the addition of InterActMobile, our officers will have incident information at their fingertips along with any related historical data, giving them a great deal of flexibility in the field."
"The Annapolis Police Department is dedicated to preserving the quality of life in Annapolis and ensuring the community's safety," said InterAct's executive chairman and chief executive officer Andrew J. "Flip" Filipowski. "We're proud that InterAct software has played a role in enhancing the safety and security of their community."
