Frampton-on-Severn retained the Frocester Fayre Stroud & District Cup with a 15-run victory over Painswick at Kings Stanley.

After winning the toss, Frampton made a flying start with 28 runs coming off the first four overs before Tom Warren was caught behind and Matt Cayless was run out shortly after.

Lee Driver-Dickerson then took centre stage, dominating the innings with a top score of 74 which included ten fours.

Frampton eventually totalled 144-9 from their 20, Nick Marment capturing 5-42.

The Painswick innings also got off to a rapid start with James Cook and Hopkins taking 25 off the first three overs only for Hopkins to then be caught behind off Dan Huxstep for 14.

Craig Barnfield and Dan Halsey tightened up the game, Halsey trapping Edwards lbw and bowling skipper Ed Bressington for a single as Painswick reached 75-4.

They were always in with a chance while Cook was at the wicket but after smashing Dan Huxstep for a six he perished next ball for a fine 50.

Matt Cayless, bowling at pace, kept the pressure on with figures of 5-31 as painswick folded to 129 all out, Dan Halsey lending excellent support as he finished with 3-19.

Frampton's winning line-up, back row, left to right: Craig Barnfield, Dan Halsey, Tom Warren, Jason Huxstep, Matt Cayless, Dan Huxstep. Front: Fraser Wilson, Lee Driver-Dickerson, Paul Groves, Jack Edge, John Clements.
