Antennas Direct Introduces CPA-19 Pre-amplifier

Dec. 4, 2008: ST. LOUIS, Mo. - As people are hooking up their converter boxes to their analog televisions, they are realizing their old-generation antennas aren't picking up the digital signal. Why? The next story in the DTV conversion saga regards digital antenna reception and ways to enhance it. Antennas Direct announced its latest innovation in DTV reception, the CPA-19 preamplifier. The CPA-19 preamplifier enhances signal strength, prevents signal loss and minimizes disruptions in order to maintain the best in digital picture reliability and consistency.

As the next generation in high-performance antenna preamplifiers, the CPA-19 is a commercial-grade preamplifier that generates very little noise and retains a high resistance to signal overload. A noisy amplifier can create signal interference. An overloaded amplifier can distort the signal and prevent the digital tuner from locking in channels.

"Commonly available amplifiers often do more harm than good," said Richard Schneider, Antennas Direct founder and president. "The CPA-19 has excellent resistance to overload. The CPA-19, compatible with any TV antenna, was engineered with a modest gain to prevent overdriving receivers, and its advanced design filters out radio and other signal interference. Its RF casing provides additional protection from interference.
