February 11, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) -Several producers of materials are looking into the usage of small sized energy generators. Materials such as antimony tin oxide are targeted towards a specific industry and usage in appliances and devices. anti static additive is also an example of a material designed for a specific type of usage.

The prospect however of developing tiny energy generators can have a broad usage range.  The technology is still being developed. For instance the nanoparticle dispersion technology for the polymer sector, it takes some time to develop new technology. The idea is that small devices can provide energy which is derived from movements, like a person walking.

Developers coated a polymer surface with a thin layer of gold. The thin layer of gold was then covered with gold nanoparticles. Above the gold surface a second polymer surface was placed which was also coated with a gold film. The second layer was suspended on tiny springs with a space of one millimeter. The two gold surfaces where connected by electrical wires to an external electrical circuit.
