AoTuroaLED Launches Kiwi Made LED Systems for New Zealand market.
Auckland – Tuesday April 20th – AoTuroaLED in Auckland has announced that it has launched a New Zealand only website for its line of innovative LED lighting products.

Auckland – Tuesday April 20th – AoTuroaLED in Auckland has announced that it has launched a New Zealand only website for its line of innovative LED lighting products. The company had planned to launch its technology in New Zealand but high demand for its technology in North America had delayed the launch by one year. AoTuroaLED Limited manufactures White LED lighting products for replacing halogen, neon, and fluorescent. Unlike other LED systems AoTuroaLED products are brighter than the older technologies they replace, are the exact same rich colors, and are priced at levels that

actualize a return on investment in typically under 12-18 months. The AoTuroaLED line uses the highest grade white LEDs manufactured by Nichia of Japan, the world’s leading producer of patented high efficacy white LED systems, the same as those used in Apple computer products and new LED flat panel televisions. The partnership with Nichia allows AoTuroaLED to offer LED products that match colors of white in halogen, incandescent and day light white fluorescent.

Manufacturing of LED systems is done in Mt. Wellington Auckland and products are exported all over the world and used in brand names like Pepsi, Mc Donald’s, FORD, Hilton Hotels, Marriott Hotels, British Petroleum, and Adidas to name a few. The AoTuroaLED Limited LED systems are also used to replace fluorescent at the Auckland International Airport in the Duty Free section.

“We thought it time to be the tall poppy in the field and to stand out in New Zealand as an iconic example of how Kiwis can show the world that innovative energy efficient technology does not need to wait until tomorrow or the future to be a reality--and it doesn’t always need to be made in China,” commented Stephanie Prather, Director of AoTuroaLED. “We have seen tremendous success with the quality and performance of our kiwi made products globally – we realized it was time to focus our efforts on the place that probably needs our technology the most – home.”

New Zealand has some of the highest energy prices in the world and the energy efficiency of the AoTuroaLED systems holds the opportunity to reduce lighting power consumption in schools, hospitals, hotels, shops, and a typical office environment by as much as 70% over fluorescent and halogen. AoTuroaLED means “nature, the world, and the production of the light of day” in Maori. The product contains no hazardous materials and is environmentally safe. The company has employed Maori tattoo artist to help structure the image of the company to tell the story to the rest of the world. The products use no hazardous materials and are environmentally friendly and sustainable.

“We find it rather powerful that in New Zealand the Maori culture will have the highest level of respect for the maintenance person in a company,” said Manuel Lynch, Director of AoTuroaLED. “We wanted to make a technology that appreciated what a maintenance person does in a building by providing them the tools that allows them to be environmentally aware, economically sensible, and operationally smart.”

The typical lifetime of a fluorescent tube in an office, car park, or hospital can be as little as 18 months or 8,000 hours of usage. The AoTuroaLED systems have proven lifetimes of 50,000 to 100,000 hours or 10-20 years in real world applications. The company also offers independent laboratory testing by a USA Department of Energy certified testing method that shows its product meet or exceed the performance of fluorescent lighting. AoTuroaLED also launched its online web shop at http://www.AoTuroaLED.co.nz or http://www.KiwiLED.co.nz. The company also introduced an online energy calculator that allows prospective customers the tools to evaluate the energy and cost savings by migrating to a New Zealand made technology.
