05/08/2014 - APHC INCREASING BRAND AWARENESS AMONGST GENERAL PUBLIC
APHC Ltd. are pleased to see positive responses from the increased marketing and development work they have been undertaking this year, and have identified that the number of searches on the APHC www.FindAQualityPlumber.co.uk directory have increased by more than 50%. The Association have been working to raise awareness of APHC amongst the general public and in doing so, the company aims to support its members to draw more customers.
In the first six months of 2014, the number of searches on the APHC www.FindAQualityPlumber.co.uk search directory have increased by more than 50%. The newly branded online Member Search Directory is a search tool that seeks to increase the number of consumers finding and selecting an APHC Member plumber or heating engineer through the APHC webpage.
Other results from the increased activity to date include a rise in enquiries from the public. In response to this, APHC created a series of Consumer Guides which are freely available from the APHC website and cover topics such as Selecting a Plumbing & Heating Contractor; Dangers of Carbon Monoxide; Dealing with Flooding and more. The guides aim to give an impartial and unbiased view to consumers, allowing them to make informed decisions about what products and/or services they require from their plumber or heating engineer.
This year, APHC have also carried out research through an independent market research company to uncover how consumers search for and select a plumber or heating engineer, and to understand whether accreditation and membership of trade bodies influences that decision.
One of the statistics uncovered was: ‘Overall 1 in 5 homeowners (20%) from a poll of 1,000 homeowners across England and Wales did not check any credentials when they last employed a plumbing or heating engineer’. As a result of this finding, in May of this year APHC launched a campaign to drive home the risk of not asking for any proof of industry qualifications. APHC national and regional spokespeople represented APHC across varying media including across regional radio stations from BBC radio Norfolk to Capital Yorkshire, all of which helped to increase visitors to the website.
“The overall drive of this year is to incite consumers to have greater awareness of the APHC brand and to have confidence in APHC members, who have gone through a screening membership process. We hope that the positive trend will continue and look forward to continued membership growth and an increasing recognition amongst the general public of the APHC brand,” said John Thompson, Chief Executive of APHC.
