Azusa Pacific University’s School of Education invites current students, alumni, and the public to attend its annual Educator Hiring Fair, connecting schools, districts, and other education-related employers with those seeking jobs in the field. Approximately 78 school districts from across Southern California are expected to attend this year. The Educator Hiring Fair takes place on Sat., March 3, at Turner Campus Center, located on Azusa Pacific’s East Campus, 901 E. Alosta Ave., in Azusa. The fair is open to APU students and alumni from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and to the public from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. There is no cost to attend, and registration may be completed online.

Hosting the Educator Hiring fair gives promising students and alumni the opportunity to find a home for their gifts and talents, whether they are hired on-the-spot or called back for final interviews,” said Anita Henck, Ph.D., School of Education dean and professor. “Districts and private schools discover strong candidates for key positions, including classroom teachers, school counselors and psychologists, as well as school and district leaders.”

APU students and alumni seeking assistance with job searches and interview skills can book one-on-one appointments through APU’s Center for Career and Calling, at (626) 815-2103. Resume help is available online.

According to the Learning Policy Institute, 75 percent of California school districts are experiencing teacher shortages. Mathematics and science teachers are especially in need.

The School of Education at Azusa Pacific University equips teachers and administrators for excellence and leadership in educational settings. Offering comprehensive graduate education degrees, the school provides an Ed.D. program and accredited teaching credential and master’s programs, including degrees in special education, school psychology, physical education, educational leadership, and educational technology.
