The Common Criteria certification ensures the trustworthiness of information technology security products and is an important third-party validation for Arbor Networks' solution

Dubai, United Arab Emirates., August 18, 2014 - (PressReleasePoint) - Arbor Networks, Inc., a leading provider of DDoS and advanced threat protection solutions for enterprise and service provider networks, today announced that the Pravail Availability Protection System has earned the Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 2 (EAL 2) certification. The evaluation and certification were issued by the Turkish Standards Institution.

The Common Criteria certification process involves evaluation by a third-party for determining the trustworthiness of information technology security products, which is fundamentally important to the company’s enterprise and government customers. Evaluations involve formal rigorous analysis and testing to examine security aspects of a product or system. Extensive testing activities involve a broad and formally repeatable process, confirming that the security product functions as claimed by the manufacturer. Security weaknesses and potential vulnerabilities are specifically examined during an evaluation.

This is an important third-party validation for the Pravail Availability Protection System,” said Matthew Moynahan, Arbor Networks President. “This certification involved rigorous evaluation and testing, the results of which show just how reliable our technology is. This product is playing a critical role in ensuring the availability of the world’s most complex and valuable network infrastructure, including some of the largest government, enterprise and financial institutions in the world.”

World Leader in DDoS Prevention
Arbor Networks' customers include many of the world's ISPs and many of the largest enterprise networks in use today. According to a report published in June 2014 from Infonetics Research titled, DDoS Prevention Appliance Market Outlook, Arbor’s Pravail Availability Protection System is the most broadly deployed enterprise DDoS detection and mitigation solution in the market today.

The Pravail Availability Protection System is the first on-premise security product focused on securing the network perimeter from threats against availability— specifically, application-layer DDoS attacks. Purpose built for the enterprise, the Pravail Availability Protection System delivers out of the box, proven attack identification and mitigation capabilities that can be rapidly deployed with little configuration, even during an attack. In addition to its on-premise protection, the Pravail Availability Protection System allows organizations that are experiencing a DDoS attack to alert their ISPs or cloud providers to the attack and provide salient details that can assist the providers in blocking the attack upstream.
