Archaeological Dig at the Etruscan Site of Veio

Thursday April 3, 2014 – 5 pm

Sala dei Cento Giorni, Palazzo della Cancelleria

Piazza della Cancelleria, Rome

Sapienza researchers will present the results of their excavations at the ancient Etruscan city of Veio. The event, which will be held on April 3, is promoted by the Pontifical Academy of Archaeology.

The on-going archaeological dig at Veio is fundamental to our understanding the ancient Etruscan city and how it developed both politically and institutionally. In particular, the conference will address the results of the excavations held at what used to be the urban area of Veio, spanning from the Bronze Age satellite settlement of Isola Farnese to the forum of the Ancient Roman municipality.
