ART SAN DIEGO Contemporary Art Fair with presenting sponsor UBS experienced a successful launch with over 1,900 guests in attendance and glowing reviews. The Art Fair features 50 prominent galleries representing contemporary artwork by established and emerging artists from around the world. It is an especially rich venue for surveying the dynamic work of Latin American artists.

The Art Fair features 50 prominent galleries representing contemporary artwork by established and emerging artists from around the world. It is an especially rich venue for surveying the dynamic work of Latin American artists.

The artwork represented showcases paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, videos, and cutting-edge multimedia artworks. The Fair includes distinguished guest speakers, luxury brand displays, citywide cultural programs, and exclusive wine and food events.

Last night, Jim Chute of The San Diego Union Tribune quoted Los Angeles gallery owner Peter Fetterman: “I go to 10 of these a year and the standard here is very high. I think it’s better than the fairs I’ve been to in Los Angeles. The big issue is: will people in San Diego come out and support the galleries?”

Chute also quoted arts patron and collector Iris Strauss in saying: “This is great for San Diego. It’s important we have a more vibrant arts community.”

ART SAN DIEGO Contemporary Art Fair will be going on for the rest of the weekend: Saturday (noon to 8pm) and Sunday (11am to 5pm). General Admission tickets are $15.
