Artist Blends Christmas, Caribbean Grooves to Benefit Music Program

Jamaica Bob and his group Jazz Caribe serve up a spicy blend of holiday tunes and Caribbean rhythms to raise funds and awareness for the Kids Rock Free Music Education Program in Corona, CA.

Kick off your holiday festivities with Jamaica Bob Griffiths as he brings his Caribbean Christmas show to the Fender Center for the Performing Arts in Corona, CA. Join him at 8 pm on Saturday, December 5 for this special fundraising concert to benefit the Kids Rock Free program.

Jamaica Bob will also be celebrating 20 years of performing professionally as a multi-cultural performing artists. Griffiths got his start through the Riverside Arts Council and has shared his native West Indian cultural throughout Inland Southern California as well as nationally.

Joining Jamaica Bob are the Big Bamboo Steel Band and Hope Anita Smith. Big Bamboo is a steel band based in Fullerton, CA and is directed by Ray McNamara. Ray also serves as the musical director Jamaica Bob’s group Jazz Caribe. Big Bamboo recently performed as part of Santa Monica Pier’s 100th year celebration. Hope Anita Smith is an award-winning author. Her first book, THE WAY A DOOR CLOSES won several awards including, The Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talent Award and the Judy Lopez award from the Women's National Book Association.

In addition to these wonderful performers, Jamaica Bob will celebrate his 50th birthday. “Music has always been such an important and significant part of my life,” says Griffiths. “I can’t imagine a milestone birthday party without it!”
