The MANIFEST EQUALITY Gallery, issues an inspiring, visual call-to-action, with hundreds of artists motivating public energy toward true reform on a local, state and national level. The MANIFEST EQUALITY Gallery gathers together a diverse array of hundreds of the nation’s most talented visual artists under one roof to celebrate that role and join with our gay (LGBT) friends, family members and co-workers to demand full and equal rights for all Americans.

One artist answering the call is Los Angeles-based Miles Regis whose self-taught style is reminiscent of master painters such as Basquiat, Pollock, Gauguin, Dali, Kahlo and Rivera. His art reflects his native Trinidadian spirit and taps into the emotions of the exotic cultures of the world, adopting them in a proud and authoritative manner. He has kept that inner, explorative imagination of his mind saturated with notions, ideas and images reflective of a world filled with conflicting interests. These contrasts make his work compelling and undeniably exciting.

When asked to participate in the show, Regis jumped at the opportunity be a part of a large scale artistic event focused on creating awareness for social reform and to create a piece that would echo his personal philosophies. “It is all about my children and the generations ahead for me. I believe strongly in each of us doing our part to help leave a better world for the generations to come. With courage there is change! You can either be a part of problem or be a part of solution,” states Regis.

The theme of equality is strongly represented in his large mixed media canvas and when asked to comment on his inspiration, Regis reveals, “I started the piece and decided as I always do, to allow the spirit to guide me. Equal is very reflective of the overall theme and the mood of event. It is bold statement with a very clear message.”

Regis’ piece can be viewed at The Manifest Equality Gallery located at 1341 Vine Street, LA, CA 90028. The show will be open to the public from March 3rd-March 7th, 10am-6pm, with extended hours Friday-Sunday. Please visit: http://manifestequality.com/ for more details.
