The Philippines offers many destinations that are much safer for tourists and business travellers than most might realize. Asia Business list the top two safest destinations.

On top of the list is the ex US air-based Clark Freeport Zone located in the province of Pampanga very near to Metro Manila. After the Americans returned it to the Philippines, Clark was quickly converted into a special economic zone. Progress had been a little slow but after some 30 years, Clark has matured into a full fledge tourist destination complete
with new championship golf courses, new casinos and resort.

Subic Bay is second on the list and again, coincidentally, it was another ex-US base, naval not air. Subic is slightly farther from Metro Manila - by about 45 minutes - than Clark. Recent completion of a super highway cut down the travel from Clark to Subic significantly reducing the journey to a mere 30 minutes and completely eliminating driving on town roads that are usually heavy with bikes and jeepneys.

Both Clark and Subic have a track record of low crime rates. Those who live in Manila are thrilled to know that there is no traffic problems in those two cities either.

There are many other destinations that Philippines that offer tourists a sense of safety and security.
