Aspen is Named in Food Logistics Top 100 Third Party Logistics Providers List
Food Logistics Magazines names Aspen Logistics, Inc. to this year's list of the top 100 logistics providers to the food industry.
Temecula, California, United States of America August 19, 2011 PressReleasePoint -– Food Logistics Magazine names Aspen Logistics, Inc. in its 2011 listing of the top 100 third party logistics solutions providers. Food Logistics is a niche specific trade magazine that provides articles and data which specifically targets those in the manufacturing, transportation, and/or warehousing of food-quality goods. This list was released August 15th. Aspen is excited to be named on the list this year. So far in 2011, the third party logistics (3PL) carrier has grown its customer base, received multiple industry awards, and formulated customized solutions around food manufacturers’ supply-chains.
Many food manufacturers approached 2011 with some caution. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a new set of rules under the Safe Food Act. The act took effect at the end of 2010 with the intention of empowering the FDA with a faster reaction to threats of food born illness. For manufacturers that meant a host of new regulation and the need to have a defined strategy in place. Aspen developed action plans that assisted customers with compliance. A piece of that strategy incorporated the new Recall Report, developed by Aspen’s in-house IT group. This feature is available through Aspen’s customer web porthole for anytime access. The report allows the customer fully customizable product search fields in real-time. If an issue should arise, the customer can find specific products anywhere within their supply-chain.
Aspen believes that the development of creative solutions like the Recall Report aided to their selection in this year’s listing. Food Logistics first began publishing this list in 2006. This year, the magazine has included 100 companies to its listing along with Aspen. As the food industry's needs become more complex, 3PLs have had to create solutions that differentiate their customers from their competitors. The magazine’s editor-in-chief Katherine Doherty believes there is a chemistry to the right 3PL with the right solutions. She states, “In the food industry, outsourcing has become a foundation of competitive advantage for many companies. We provide this list to help our readers find the best 3PLs and cold storage providers for their business.” Aspen welcomes the recognition and will keep up its momentum in meeting with the ever changing needs of today’s customer.
