Association for Coaching, 15th March 2010: PressreleasePoint The Association for Coaching (AC) has launched its 4th book in a series of coaching titles aimed at coaches, HR or training consultants and leaders with an interest in coaching for high performance leadership.

Leadership Coaching examines the models and techniques used to develop greater leadership in others through a coaching relationship. The book explores a variety of models. Each contributor, all experts in their field, reviews the research which supports a model of leadership and then explores how the model can be applied in coaching greater potential in others.

Various types of leaders are identified in the book, including political leaders, leaders of global top teams as well as leaders who can potentially derail an organisation. The book includes chapters on well known models such as Porter’s Strategy model and Goleman’s model of emotionally intelligent leadership, and has an international focus. It draws on work from both the modern western view of leadership, as well as diversity in leadership, including the use of ancient scriptures and myths to develop today’s leaders.

Katherine Tulpa, CEO of The Association for Coaching comments: “Today’s leaders come in many different shapes and sizes and each has their own set of issues, personal values and demands upon them. This book aims to help executive coaches identify the various types of leadership they may work with and equips them with the applied theory as well as case studies, in order to do so.”

The book covers such areas as:
• Coaching for authentic leadership
• Coaching for emotionally intelligent leadership
• Coaching through the art of war: an Asian perspective
• Helping leaders who can potentially derail
• Coaching for political leadership
• Coaching in a leadership system
• Coaching for leadership styles
• Coaching global top teams
• Coaching through myths & stories: An African perspective

Other books in the series from The Association for Coaching include Excellence in Coaching; Psychometrics in Coaching and Diversity in Coaching, all of which have been edited by Jonathan Passmore and are available via www.associationforcoaching.com or www.koganpage.com.

Leadership Coaching will be launched at The Association for Coaching’s Conference, Going Global on March 11-12, 2010, at the Victoria Park Plaza in London (www.aconference.com)
