The Association for Women in Communications Celebrates Communications Excellence with the 2013 Clarion Awards

The 41st year of the prestigious Clarion Awards competition, presented by the Association for Women in Communications, is now open for entries.


Alexandria, Va., United States., January 15, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) -The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) announced that the 2013 International Clarion Awards Competition is now open for entries. The Clarion Award, in its 41st year, honors excellence in all communications. Awards opportunities lie in more than 100 categories covering many aspects of advertising, education, fundraising, graphic design, internal communications, magazines, marketing, feature writing, online journalism, public relations, radio, television, blogs, and special events.

The competition is open to independent contractors, media companies of all sizes, as well as corporations, small businesses, and nonprofit associations and organizations. Women and men, individuals and organizations, AWC members and nonmembers, students, and international professionals are all invited to submit their work. Past winners include Newsweek, CNN, Vanguard Communications, Pierson Grant Public Relations, Massachusetts School of Law, Self Magazine, Parade Publications, Philadelphia Magazine, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Angie’s List Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and many more. 

“Entering the Clarion Awards is a great way to gain recognition as one of today’s top communications professionals,” says Maria Henneberry, AWC Chair, “We have moved the awards registrations entirely online, making the entrant process even easier”.

To qualify, more than half of an entry must have been published, broadcast, or implemented between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2012. Peer judges review the work based on budget size, so all entries are considered fairly. Early-bird savings are available until February 28, 2013. Final deadline is March 31, 2013.
 
Clarion Award winners will be recognized at the AWC National Conference in Springfield, IL, during the Clarion/Matrix Award Dinner on Sat. Oct. 19, 2013. For further details and online registration, please visit our Clarion Awards site
