AT&T maintains top spot in terms of sales
Since at least 2007, AT&T, Verizon and NTT have appeared in the top 3 positions in terms of sales in the Forbes global listing of top publicly listed telecom carriers. AT&T has maintained the lead, however whilst AT&T and NTT reported similar sales results in 2009 compared to 2008; Verizon Communications actually reported a rise in sales from $97.3 billion in 2008 to $107.8 billion in 2009.
Deutsche Telecom, Telfonica, China Mobile, France Telecom, Vodafone, Telecom Italia and KDDI rounded out the top global telecom carriers in terms of sales in 2009.
