The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week the newly sponsored and longstanding LG Performance of the Week Award should go to AFC Bournemouth following their excellent 4-0 away win against Huddersfield Town in the Sky Bet Championship on 9 August 2014.
The experienced panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 professional matches in English football.
AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe will receive a new specially commissioned trophy made by world renowned silversmiths and LMA Partner, Thomas Lyte of London, in a presentation to commemorate the award.
Bournemouth won the first award of the season with a fine away victory at Huddersfield.
Callum Wilson scored twice on his debut with added goals from Marc Pugh and Yann Kermorgant to mark the visitors start to the season in fine style.
After the match, Howe was delighted with the impact of striker Wilson;
"It's always important for a striker to start well at a new club and he will improve and develop from here. This will give him a big lift.
"We intend to rotate the squad this season. When you look at the squad, with everyone fit, we could pick two teams and there wouldn't be much between them.
"This was the best start possible and we need to build on that, and I think we will."
