Barnes & Noble Receives Perfect Rating on Corporate Equality Index for Sixth Straight Year

(NYSE: BKS), one of the nation’s largest booksellers and the leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, proudly announced today that it has earned the top rating of 100 percent for the sixth year in a row in the 2014 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization.   The Corporate Equality Index rates large U.S. employers on their policies and practices pertinent to LGBT employees.
