Swedish IT Service Provider Reduces Risk, Improves End-User Satisfaction

Redwood City, Calif. - February 16, 2010 - Nimsoft, Inc., the first provider ofUnified Monitoring

™ solutions, today announced that Barret, who delivers a range of hosted and on-site IT solutions to companies in Sweden, is using the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) to monitor infrastructure, services and applications for its customers. NMS will provide insight to the end-user’s experience and help Barret ensure availability and performance of applications and services.

Prior to choosing NMS, Barret used freeware and point monitoring solutions to monitor hardware parameters like disk space and processor load, but had no visibility into the quality of the services delivered. By adding real-time, end-user monitoring to its service offering, Barret not only improves customer satisfaction but differentiates itself with a value-added service.

“We wanted to keep the infrastructure very simple, while adding the ability to see how our services really worked from an end-user perspective,” said Kjell Flemström, IT Manager at Barret. “Although our previous monitoring solution provided insight into how the hardware performed, we didn’t have a clear idea of how our services were working. With Nimsoft, we can monitor hardware and applications, as well as response times and performance, with one centralized, unified solution. NMS allows us to simplify our infrastructure and reduce costs, while improving satisfaction among our customers.”

NMS was chosen for its rich feature set, scripting capabilities and customizable probes, which Barret can use to monitor proprietary or specialized applications. Additionally, alerts are sent via email to notify administrators of potential issues before they bring down the network or affect services. Nimsoft alerting features enable more proactive troubleshooting, further improving service levels.

With Nimsoft, Barret can fully realize the cost savings and performance gains promised by private and public cloud computing. NMS offers the ease of use, zero-touch setup, comprehensive infrastructure coverage, and sophisticated end-user response monitoring capabilities that cloud computing environments require. The solution provides unrivalled support for infrastructure, platform and software as a service (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) computing models, giving customers unparalleled flexibility in the way they design and use their IT infrastructures.

“Service Providers must distinguish themselves in the marketplace with reliable service offerings that help smaller companies reduce risk and save money,” said Gary Read, Nimsoft president and CEO. “Using NMS, Barret can more easily and cost-effectively provide these benefits to customers. At the same time Barret reduces operational costs by using a single tool to monitor hardware, applications and services, both on-site and in the cloud, and can provide customized solutions with features and pricing to meet the needs of each customer.”
