This is a reminder to BCGEU members who may encounter a BC Teachers’ Federation  picket line at their workplace.  This includes:

  • BCGEU members who are school district employees and work in a public school
  • BCGEU members who work for an employer that has a worksite in a public school or on public school property.

BCGEU members who encounter a BCTF picket line should not cross the picket line.

The strength and solidarity of working women and men is built on respect for picket lines.

BCGEU members whose worksites are behind BCTF picket lines will receive target strike pay for respecting the picket line. Your BCGEU steward will be working with assigned BCGEU staff representatives to ensure that your strike pay is processed. They will need your name, mailing address and rate of pay.

If you encounter a picket line, do not cross it. When workers stand together we win.

BCGEU members should contact their local BCGEU area office if they have any questions. To contact your local office call BCGEU Direct at 1-888-991-6062 (toll-free) or 604-291-6062 in the Lower Mainland.

Please visit for the latest information for BCGEU members affected by the BCTF rotating strike.
