Beacon Partners to Host Education Sessions at Upcoming HIMSS 2013 Conference

WEYMOUTH, MA – MARCH 1, 2013 – Beacon Partners, one of the largest healthcare organizations in North America, will be exhibiting and hosting three presentations at the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. The conference will take place at the Morial Convention Center from March 3 – 7, 2013.

In addition to holding a booth exhibit at the conference, three Beacon Partners executives will lead education sessions on various topics in the healthcare industry.

M. Christine Kalish, MBA, CMPE, National Practice Director, will speak about the financial challenges that are posed to healthcare organizations around budgeting for ICD-10, and the impact that this can have on the future success of an organization. Ms. Kalish will present “Avoiding ICD-10 Budgeting Pitfalls” from 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 4 in the Morial Center’s Conference Room 348.

Fernando Martinez, Ph.D., FHIMSS, National Practice Director, will discuss how Business Associates and healthcare organizations can work together to mitigate security risks and avoid healthcare data breaches in light of new HIPAA provisions. Dr. Martinez’s “The Risks Business Associates Pose to Healthcare Organizations” presentation will be held in the Morial Center’s Conference Room 349 on Tuesday, March 5 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

On Wednesday, March 6, Bruce Eckert, MBA, CPHIMS, FHIMSS, Principal, will lead a Habits of Highly Meaningful Users presentation. Mr. Eckert will evaluate and prioritize Meaningful Use (MU) Stage 2 objectives, and discuss how to integrate MU deadlines with other federal healthcare initiatives. His education session will be held from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. in New Orleans Theater B.

Throughout the HIMSS conference, Beacon Partners executives will be at exhibition booth #4729 to discuss MU, privacy and security, ACO strategy and planning, ICD-10, Business Intelligence, and more.
