Cambridge, MA, United States., January 28 2014 - (PressReleasePoint) -
Considered one of the most influential jazz musicians of the 20th century, singer and composer Miles Davis was at the forefront of several major musical developments in jazz, including bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, model jazz and jazz fusion. Inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, Davis’ award-winning album ‘Kind of Blue’ stands as the best-selling album of all time. A gifted musician, trumpeter, composer and band leader, he is continually recognized as one of the key figures in the history of jazz.
Tonight, talented trumpeter Phil Grenadier will channel the late, great, Miles Davis performing a soulful jam session dedicated to the iconic musician. Boston-based Grenadier has made sideman appearances on albums by Bob Belden, Owen Howard, Harvey Wainapel, Bob Nieske, and Melissa Kassel. His debut recording, Sweet Transients, was released in 2000. The album documents Grenadier's highly developed improvisational and band-leading skills, as well as his connections with fine young players such as Seamus Blake, Ethan Iverson, and Bill Stewart.
